Our musical projects came to life back in 2010, inside our classrooms, with the goal of using music to communicate what life is like in one of the greatest cities in the world.

Since then, our ensembles have performed at venues such as the Soumaya Museum, the Papalote Children’s Museum, Museo de Arte Popular, Universidad Panamericana, Teatro del Parque, Plaza Loreto, 7th and 8th FICUP Festivals, MAF (Monteverde Arts Festival) and our own LAF (Live Arts Festival).

Moreover, our boys toured Chicago in 2012 and Beijing and Hong Kong back in 2014, having had the privilege on performing at landmarks such as the Great Wall of China.

Our boys have also participated in two CD recordings, one in 2015 and most recently in 2017.

Downtown Strings

Downtown Strings Orchestra was born in the Northridge School Mexico classrooms in 2010, with the desire and excitement to communicate via our music the feeling of living in one of the world’s largest cities.

Our orchestra is made up of Middle and High School students, apart from our academic activities, we have decided to dedicate time to develop our musical skills.

We’ve had performances in different locations throughout Mexico such as the Museo Soumaya, Papalote Museo del Niño, Museo de Arte Popular, Universidad Panamericana, Teatro del Parque, Plaza Loreto, 7o y 8o, FICUP, LAF and MAF.

We went on tour in 2012 to Chicago, in 2014 to Beijing and Hong Kong, playing in historic places like the Great Wall of China. We are currently preparing ourselves to participate in our new tour in the city of Chicago.

We have two disc productions, one from 2015 and the most recent one from 2017.

NSM Boys Choir

The NSM Boys Choir was born in 2011 with the goal of forming our boys through choral performance.

Since then, our NSM Boys Choir has participated in many events, such as the “Entre Coros” Festival (4th Edition), the “Cantus in Adventu” concert season, (alongside various Mexico City choirs) and the “Encuentro Infantil de la Universidad La Salle”.  They have also performed in venues such as the Soumaya Museum, the Museo del Carmen and the Orfeo Català.

In 2014, our choir and the Downtown Strings Orchestra visited Hong Kong and Beijing as part of the “Mexico Through the Sound of Music” tour.

In 2016, our students also performed for Pope Francis in Ciudad Juárez, as part of the Monumental Choir that was put together for his welcome.

Within the workings of the Live Arts Festival, the boys have had the privilege of working under the direction of personalities like Teresa Navarro and José Galván.

Their repertoire is multitalented, for they are able to sing pieces from the liturgical, spiritual, Mexican and international contemporary styles of music.

They also took part in the recording of two CD’s, one in 2015, and the other one most recently, in 2017.
