The Lower Elementary curriculum at Northridge School Mexico is based on standards, statements that define what students should know and be able to do, for each subject area, These standards have been adopted from international agencies to also match our local Educational Bureau to guarantee our students’ learning Standards (NSM Syllabus). We have divided content into benchmarks, which describe the increasingly complex contexts and skills that students address as they move from one grade level to another. Standards and benchmarks help us focus on the process, as well as the product, and break learning into manageable steps that guide teachers and students to a high academic and human quality outcome.
We are committed to developing not only stronger competencies, but also complex cognitive abilities so that in the near future our students can be proficient in both languages, Spanish and English. They can develop to be critical thinkers, successful problem solvers and great leaders.
